Track & Field / Cross-Country Club
1) Provide high-quality track and field/cross-country training and competition -to foster amateur athletic competitions throughout the year; train, prepare, develop and support amateur athletes, physically and mentally for the highest levels of competition locally, nationally and internationally; organize athletic competitions designed to provide amateur athletes venues to achieve their full competitive potential.
2) Support the Boston Public Schools’ existing track and field/cross-country programs: to provide training for new coaches; offer specialized clinics and supplemental training for experienced coaches; work with local colleges and universities to cultivate a pipe-line of future coaches and establish “mentor athlete” partnerships.
3) Promote physical fitness, mental discipline and healthy living: to teach, through the sport, sportsmanship, civic responsibility, leadership, teamwork and positive life skills; raise the profile of track and field among Boston Public School students and families; help increase the number of Boston student-athletes who gain acceptance into colleges in universities.
